What is the AVPA “Teas of the World” Contest?

The AVPA tea competition is quite unique: it is the only one in Europe and France to offer a sensory assessment of tea, where an excellent taste profile should be remarkable rather than consensual. This is the first time that an independent body in a consumer country has rewarded and highlighted the good practices of tea players to the general public and industry professionals.

What’s new in 2019?

For this 2d instalment of the competition, a special category for herbal plants other than camellia sinensis has been opened. This decision stems from a strong demand from the producers and the increasing consumption of herbal teas on the French market. Same as tea, herbal teas are telling of the excellence of a terroir and producer’s know-how.
